Tyme to Glitter

Tyme White over at 9rules is posting hints as to what she’s looking for in the next blog submission round. This post, “What is your site about?”, nudges potential applicants to make sure their site has a clear focus. That’s an important consideration. Do you think the “About” intro sums it up? Does this site offer what it claims? At 18 months, this blog has evolved through various styles. Let me know what you think. I like feedback.

I also like back scratching, and at this point, I’m willing to do a little of it for Tyme, because I think my site has value, (though it’s hard to categorize), but also because 9rules offers a high quality list of sites. Hi Tyme. Welcome. Please make yourself a home.

Thank God for Keith Olberman

I don’t usually like to post politics here, but this was just too vivid to pass up. It would be like a minister continuing with a sermon while the holy ghost just appeared as his church is burning down. I turned on the TV to watch a movie, and MS NBC happened to be on. This is what I heard…

“It is the terror and the guilt within your own heart, Mr. Bush, that you redirect at others who simply wish for you to temper your certainty with counsel.”

“A president who since 9/11 so hates or fears other Americans that he accuses them of advocating deliberate inaction in the face of the enemy.”

“Please, sir, do not throw this country’s principles away because your lies have made it such that you can no longer differentiate between the terrorists and the critics.”

Please go read the entire text of this brave commentary “Keith Olbermann on the difference between terrorists and critics”. Our country needs the truth. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. It’s about integrity, leadership and truth. It’s also about preserving the democratic principles on which the US constitution is based.

Body Awareness, Confidence and Spirit

After studying body awareness for awhile through the Alexander Technique, I embraced the health and balance of my body not as something to get other things, not as a physical object to be purchased by the acceptance or praise of others. Physical health and poise are not an ends in themselves. Instead, they determines quality of giving I can offer to the world. My body is the instrument of my living Spirit, a prize possession to be shared and cherished.

Like any instrument, if you play it long enough out of tune, without practicing or refining the quality of its freedom, you are likely left dulled and numb, disconnected from the vitality of Life. I see my body instrument as a necessary indulgence to a vital Spirit.

Poise-on Blogging; An Addiction

Did you get the pun?

You are sitting in front of a computer as you read this. What is your posture like? Are you relaxed? Do you have any discomfort? How long do you do this activity daily? Are you a maniac blogger?

I had to cut back on blogging for awhile because I had so much pain from misusing my body. It nearly consumed me. Plus I was ignoring my real life by spending so much time in front of the computer. The blog filled my every waking thought: what to write, what to edit, how to publicize, who to read….I think some of you know the feeling.
